Methodology
This page explains where our prices come from, how we check them and how the calculators work.
Source of prices
UAE retail fuel prices are set each month by the UAE Fuel Price Committee and published through WAM, the Emirates News Agency. We record the official figures for Super 98, Special 95, E-Plus 91 and diesel in AED per litre, including 5% VAT.
How we update
- The committee usually announces prices on the last day of the month. New prices take effect on the 1st.
- We check the official announcement and cross-check the figures with a second reliable source before publishing.
- Each month records the effective date, the announcement date, the source link and the date we last verified it.
- Before the 1st, new prices are shown as announced; on the 1st they automatically become the current prices.
- We never estimate or guess an official price. If a month has not been announced, we say so.
Calculators
Fuel needed = distance × consumption (L/100 km) ÷ 100. Fuel cost = fuel needed × price per litre. Cost per km = price per litre × consumption ÷ 100. Results are estimates: actual consumption depends on your car, speed, traffic, air conditioning and load.
Currency conversion
Converted prices use daily exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API. They are for comparison only; fuel is always paid for in AED.
