UAE Fuel Cost Calculator
Calculate how much fuel a trip will use and what it will cost at the official October 2026 UAE prices. Switch to Monthly for your commute or Full tank for a fill-up.
How this is calculated
Fuel needed (L) = distance (km) × consumption (L/100 km) ÷ 100
Fuel cost (AED) = fuel needed × price per litre
Cost per km (AED) = price per litre × consumption ÷ 100
km/L is converted with L/100 km = 100 ÷ km/L. Prices are the official October 2026 retail prices including VAT. Results are estimates; real consumption depends on traffic, speed, air conditioning and load.
How to use the calculator
- Trip: enter the distance in km or choose a route, and tick round trip if you are coming back.
- Monthly: enter how far you drive each day and on how many days a month. You get the monthly and yearly cost.
- Full tank: choose your car size or enter the tank capacity in litres.
- Choose your car type, or type your own consumption in L/100 km or km/L. You can find it in your car’s trip computer or owner’s manual.
- The fuel price is filled in automatically. You can change it to compare with a previous month.
Formulas
- Fuel needed (litres) = distance (km) × consumption (L/100 km) ÷ 100
- Fuel cost (AED) = fuel needed × price per litre
- Cost per km (AED) = price per litre × consumption ÷ 100
- L/100 km = 100 ÷ km/L
Example: a 250 km trip in a car using 8 L/100 km needs 250 × 8 ÷ 100 = 20 litres. At Special 95 (AED 4.28 per litre) that is 20 × the litre price.
Typical fuel consumption in UAE driving
Real consumption in the UAE is often higher than the official figure because of air conditioning, traffic and high motorway speeds. As a rough guide:
- Compact car (1.2–1.6 L engine): 5–7 L/100 km
- Mid-size sedan: 7–9 L/100 km
- Mid-size SUV: 9–12 L/100 km
- Large 4×4 (V6/V8): 12–16 L/100 km
These are estimates for planning. Use your own car’s average for the most accurate result.
